Simple Step By Step Instructions On How To Add A Digg Button

Submit Post To Digg

  1. Join Digg if you haven’t already done so.
  2. Write a good post (or a bad post, whatever).
  3. Sign in to Digg.
  4. Submit New (top right corner of Digg page).
  5. Copy/Paste the URL of your post.
  6. Select News Article, Video, or Image.
  7. Add the title to your post, a short description, the most appropriate topic, and the “are you human” code at the bottom. *Digg will think your story is a duplicate.  Just ignore this, go to the bottom of the page and click “Totally Original, I Swear!”

  1. Once you have completed step 7 and Digg brings you to the next page look at the address bar.  Copy your address and put it on a document or some place safe because you are getting ready to use it.
  2. Log into your WordPress.com account and edit the post you just submitted to Digg.
  3. At the top of your post (edit screen) you will see two tabs at the right hand corner.  Click HTML.
  4. Get ready to insert the code at the top of your post.
For Example:
digg=http://digg.com/comedy/Michael_Phelps_Endorses_Kellogg_s_New_Slogan_Dummies_Of_Th
Make sure that once you put your digg address in the right place that you put [ ] on either side of it so that the code shows up as a button when you publish.
Once you have entered your Digg HTML button click “update post.”  Now go see your post with your new shiny Digg button.
