I&#039;m not sure what the policy is here, but I think older people and those on low incomes can receive a free digital box thingy. A lot of people use a paid for satellite service here in the UK called SKY. Only very few people use cable (mostly provided by Virgin) as the channels on offer isn&#039;t as good as satellite.

Oh, and if you think your gov is stupid, our gov makes us pay £150 a year for a tv &#039;license&#039; which mainly goes to paying for the BBC. What happens if you don&#039;t want to watch the BBC or listen to BBC radio stations and want to watch satellite channels instead (which costs £30-50 a month on its own)? You still have to pay the license, or you face a fine, criminal conviction and possible prison sentence. Now that&#039;s Dumb for ya!</description>
