Last month my hosting account got suspended and Dummies of the Year! was to blame. This site uses 16.65 Gigs. That sounds like way too much for just one website… especially this one!
My goal is to significantly decrease the amount of Gig used on this site. Here is what I plan to do.
- Eliminate right-click. Go ahead and try to right-click anywhere on the site.
- Eliminate plugins that I don’t really need.
I can’t really think of anything else to do.
If you are self-hosted do you now how many Gigs your site uses?

Do you have something like WP Super Cache installed as a plug in?
Yep. I do have WP Super Cache Installed.
I get tons of hits on Cute Little Kittens. I did have photos for that post in my library for this site. I just loaded them up to my wordpress.com library and deleted them here. I will see if that works.
I have another site that is using 622.03 Meg.
I installed WP Super Cache & it causes problems with pages loading etc. I tried some other one too & the same happened. I can’t even right click to correct a spell checked word when writing comments. Drats Mel now I will have to lern to spell propuly. I can’t click into my comment text either tomake changes without backspacing the whole lot to the point I want to get to.
Check out this post so that you know how to properly install WP Super Cache: http://tentblogger.com/wp-super-cache/
I’ll see what I can do about the right-click on text.
I am keeping right-click function turned on but I am allowing one to edit their comments.
You’re smart, Scholar Mel. I didn’t even know you could disable right-click on sites. Hmm….
I’ve heard that it isn’t full proof but it works for those who don’t know how to get around it.
I get a reasonable amount of traffic on my sites, all hosted on one account, and only use about 3/4 of the bandwidth that you do. One is even a picture site. Can you find out where your main draw is? Seems like something is amiss.
It’s Cute Little Kittens. My traffic is way down the last few days because I am hosting those photos at dummiesoftheyear.wordpress.com instead of here. Will be interesting to see how many gigs I use in July.
I can barely spell gig.
That does sound like a lot of ones and zeros, though.
