Should They Leave The Accused Nazi Guard Alone?
Nazi Guard Served Mother Russia Not The Fatherland?
John Demjanjuk is being accused of killing 29,000 Jews, so why do I think they should leave him alone?
- Age – He is 89 years old
- (update reason) We don’t know that he is guilty (innocent until proven guilty, right?)
He suffers from:
- Chronic Kidney Disease
- Kidney Stones
- Arthritis Of The Spine
In his own words this is what the son had to say,
“If we just look at the facts of what is going on here and them (German prosecutors) not having the slightest concern over the fact that he has multiple illnesses, is unable to travel, could never be put on trial, could never be involved in his own defence, says to me that they’re acting more like Nazi Germany than the Federal Republic of Germany.”
Demjanjuk says that he was drafted into the Russian army but then became Nazi Germany’s POW forced to serve in their prison camps.
I think it is just a waste of time and money. Germany is also taking a chance that this man is guilty. If he is not guilty then they are just lugging around an old, frail and innocent man who probably suffered enough nightmares that caused him to live in a mental prison.
Your Thoughts
Despite this mans physical condition should he be forced to leave the US so he can stand trial? Is Germany being dumb?
When was the last time that Germany actually hung somebody? When I lived over there it seemed like the criminals had it pretty easy. Kill somebody? Kein problem, because you will be out in 6-10 years. How accurate is that?
Thanks for stopping by Dummies and throwing your two cents in.
It is with gratitude and much delight that I accept this most honorable award. It will no doubt continue to pave the way for more assumptions and assertions that belie reality, that detract from confession and that makes smart people out of dummies - or perhaps dummies out of smart people. Oh I am so confused - anyway thanks for the award - I shall display it on my mantle with pride.
Well as mindless as it may seem -"yes he should" "YES HE MUST!" and "Yes they MUST" -
Simple - He committed crimes against humanity-war crimes- different standard -? I dont know what category this nazi falls into.
He admitted to what he did - saying he was in fact a guard at the concentration camp and more. Every guard knew and watched the murders.
What more is there to say. You are still welcome to give me the mindless award- I accept gladly.
OOOOOOOOOps sorry! Give me the dummy award - beg you, pleeeze!!
Okay that said,
" YES HE SHOULD be tried to the fullest extent of the Law. 89 year olds who were ailing were the firsat to be shot and gassed in cold blood by these nazi murderers. His time is up - problem is he got to live much longer than he should have - I have zero sympathy for him. People who watched as he did and participates are in a category of their own - some form of sub-human or inhumane. He needs to go back..NOW!"
Thanks for switching it over to here.
First I just want to make sure you are not pulling one of those mindless Yes We Can chants with your YES HE SHOULD ;)
I agree he should be tried.
I don't agree with your assuming that he is guilty. I get this from you saying that "his time is up" and "he got to live much longer than he should have"
I think that Germany is like us in that he is innocent until proven guilty.
My prediction: The worst outcome for this man is that he gets tried in Germany. If he survives the trial they will have to use their own money to provide him health care while they take care of him in prison.
He won't be exicuted in Germany. From what I hear they put them in jail for a few years and let them go.
If anybody knows more about the way Germany treats their murderers please let me know (i'm all eyes)
Germany has an "exeption law" that provides for execution through hanging for war criminals of the type of Demjanjuk. This is exactly what is being quietly planned and this is also what the Central Jewish Council is hoping for. It is also what most Germans wish. Now, it could take up to twenty minutes for a criminal of that sort to die hanging on the galows, but given Demjanjuks condition it may unfortunately take shorter than that.

Conrats you win the MINDLESS AWARD, Yes you did! :)
I read that he said he was a POW of the Nazis forced to work for them.
