warren obama mccain Obama's Purpose Driven LifeMan Of God

I know this is old news but what better way to start a blog than to report on the soon to be president .

A few weeks back president-elect Obama made the decision to invite Christian minister Rick Warren to give the inauguration prayer at his swearing in ceremony.  This has made some heads turn, well, red.

Atheist Throw A Fit

Who is upset with Obama’s decision?  Atheists, that is who.  They have filed a lawsuit against having prayer at the Presidential Inauguration.

To have a prayer at what they call a secular event makes them feel like second class citizens.

My Thoughts And Yours

So you decide.  Who has made the half-baked decision?  Is it Obama for allowing prayer at his inauguration or is it the atheists who have filed the law suit?

I look forward to your answers and your reasoning.

These other posts rock also (not really):

As promised in an earlier post of mine, I will visit and comment in anyone’s blog who comments in mine. If I can figure out how to do the RSS thing I will also subscribe to your blog.

Now as for the Rick Warren thing.

I think the objectors are just being p***ks. I think it’s pretty plain from history that this is not an atheist government, from the wording in the Declaration of Independence to the inscriptions on our currency and coinage to the prayers offered in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

If the people want to make this a completely religion neutral country, it can be done. Pass an ammendment against public prayer in any form. Refuse to elect anyone who believes in a divine entity of any kind. There are multiple ways they can do it. Make it against the law to express a belief in God by anyone be they a private citizen or a government official (elected or not). But, it ain’t gonna happen.

I’m trying to remain non biased so that I can see how people are going to answer without my influence but I am going to go a head and agree with you.

Thanks for the comment. I think they may just need something to whine about. But then again I can’t relate because I am not an atheist.

I have added a link to your blog on my front page. In a new links table called “blogs I like” or something like that . . .

Done — before I saw you asked. I’m still climbing the left side of the curve. :)

I prefer the name of the site, bitte.

Thanks for adding me but would you mind switching the link name to “Dummies Of The Year” instead of my alias “Unknown Nobody”? Thanks.

What do you prefer? Your name or the name of your site when I add you to my blogroll? Let me know and I will get you added. Thanks.
