Plaxico vs State of New York
Plaxico Burress carried a gun into a nightclub but he did not have the license to carry a concealed weapon. Nobody would have even known he had the gun if it didn’t slip down his pant leg and shoot him in the thigh. His life was going pretty good up until that point with a family, NFL career and a Super Bowl victory. Because Plaxico broke state laws he has to serve a two year sentence away from his family.
I am all about people paying for their wrong doing but is his sentence a bit extreme? He didn’t hurt anybody but himself. He didn’t have any intention of shooting anybody and not even himself for that matter.
I would say New York State. Plaxico was only having a couple of shots.
