Woohoo! The Simpsons For Two More Seasons

The Simpsons have been going strong for 20 years now and have just signed on for 2 more seasons. When they finish the series they will have a total of 493 episodes. I think they should get 7 more episodes so they can have a total of 500 episodes. Seriously they should just go for 20 more seasons and we can enjoy 1000 shows. How many years would it take to get through the reruns?

I love The Simpsons. It's a pity though that Family Guy has taken some of its viewers, seeing as it's pretty much a blatant rip-off.
Family Guy can be funny at times and at other times I just stare at the tv wondering if their "joke" was necessary.
It is a shame that the Simpsons will have to come to and end.

Nooooo, this is the worst news ever for people who remember when The Simpsons used to actually be funny!! The series heyday was probably the mid to late 90s when almost all episodes were gold... now they're pretty pitiful shadows of their former selves.
The producers should have let the show rest in peace about 5 years ago, rather than eek it out this long. Matt Groening is on record as saying they'll continue on until the show is no longer profitable. It's a shame that they're so focused on the business side of things, rather than ending what was once a wonderful series, on a high.
